Together We Can Do More
About Us
In the early 1990s, the Latin (Catholic) Parish community recognised the need for a dedicated hospice in Cyprus. After several years of tireless fundraising by local residents and the Catholic community, they received permission from local and government authorities to develop a site near the peaceful village of Mesa Chorio.
In 2015, the Archangel Michael Hospice (now known as the Archangel Michael Pasykaf Hospice) opened it’s doors to provide comprehensive support services for individuals diagnosed with terminal illnesses. Supported by a team of professionals, the hospice offers care for those affected by conditions such as Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, heart, liver, kidney, or lung disease, motor neurone disease, and advanced cancer.
Our Core focus is to seek financial support from businesses and other bodies in addition to organising all manner of fund-raising events.
Now that the hospice is complete we continue to raise funds for the day to day running of the Hospice something which provides a much needed facility in Paphos and in the wider Cyprus in general.
Our Mission is to raise funds in support of Archangel Michael Pasykaf Hospice in order for them to provide excellence in palliative and respite care to those in need, irrespective of race, colour or creed.
We have a total of 5 Charity Shops operating in the Paphos region; Geroskipou, Peyia, Kato Paphos, Agapinoros and Polemi. We also run special fundraising events, have a number of charity boxes in various locations around Paphos, accept online donations and welcome corporate sponsorships and partnerships too.

“The best way to feel great is to get up and do something good.”

Chris Peet
Financial Director & Secretary

“Life is too short, learn to live for today and be kind to those who may not be so fortunate as yourselves.”

Chris Peet
Financial Director & SecretaryI am very much an “international person” having grown up in Tanzania (Tanganyika) as a kid and did my secondary education in the UK before joining BOAC (British Airways) in 1969.
I cut my teeth in several customer facing departments, working my way up which led to my selection as an Overseas Station Officer where I was trained in all aspects of airport and flight operations. I moved from airport management to country management, finally returning to Heathrow as a senior manager in Terminal 1. I joined Emirates Airline in 1991 where I was VP for Network Operations and Logistics. This involved the recovery from irregular operations, crew planning and rostering as well as emergency procedures. I retired in 2010 having seen the growth of Emirates from an operator of eight aircraft, to more than 180.
My career has taken me to many parts of the globe where I lived and worked; Sri Lanka, India, Hong Kong, Barbados, Sudan before enjoying permanent postings to Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Egypt, Oman, and Dubai. I have loved learning and experiencing diverse cultures (and cuisines). This has given me an incredible grounding in all aspects of life and living. A humbling experience is an understatement.
I consider that, overall, God has given me a good life despite several difficulties, and it was my desire to do something voluntarily, and give something back when I retired. This started as a volunteer in the Archangel Michael Hospice before becoming a part of the Charity in 2017 as their treasurer. In 2024, the Association became a Charitable Limited company to comply with changing regulatory requirements in Cyprus.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking (Indian and Chinese/Asian Cuisine) and watching sport.
Appointed Vice President and Membership Secretary in December 2021

I live on Aphrodite Hills with my wife and daughter and am a keen sportsman with Football, Cricket, Golf and Tennis being among my favourites.

“‘A little bit of help is worth more than a lot of sympathy.”

Ian Geddes
DirectorI was born in Tunbridge Wells. After 5 years of classic chef training, I moved into Hotel Management in Eastbourne and London, after which I purchased a print franchise in Bournemouth in 1980 and I retired in 2007. After retiring I completed a 2 year course in drug/alcohol counselling before moving to Cyprus in 2014.
I’m married to Caroline, I’m a keen football fan and a season ticket holder in Paphos. I do a few listening shifts on Paphos Samaritans and help people with addiction issues. In my spare time I enjoy socialising, cooking, walking with groups and trying to keep fit.
I worked as a volunteer in the Polemi shop in 2015, and saw the opening of the Hospice. When David asked me to come back to St Michael’s Hospice Charity as a Director on the Board in November 2023, it was my pleasure to join, seeing it as an opportunity to give a little help to the community.
