📢 St. Michael’s Hospice Charity Golf Day 2024

On June 26th, under the early Cyprus sunrise (a rare sight for many), the third annual fourball Golf Day unfolded at Secret Valley Golf Club. Sponsored by Chase Buchanan, a record 24 teams eagerly awaited the claxon to signal the start.

Familiar faces returned, including the defending champions—the “A Team”—while newcomers joined the fray. Beyond the title, individual prizes were up for grabs in the Stableford format, where the best two scores on each hole mattered. As temperatures soared, six teams closely contested the front 9, with only 4 points separating the leaders. The back 9 promised intrigue, but the heat took its toll.

Midday saw teams retreat to the Clubhouse, hot and tired yet buoyed by camaraderie. Cool drinks flowed, and a delightful buffet meal awaited. Trophies were awarded, including Nearest the Pin winners sponsored by various businesses. The overall champions, O’man Not Him Again, clinched victory by a mere 2 points.

The pinnacle of the afternoon? The raffle and auction orchestrated by Anne and Rachel, with heartfelt thanks to all contributors. Special mention goes to Elea Golf Club Members, whose €1,000 donation bolstered the cause. The total raised—around €4,000—will make a difference.
