Originally from Henley in Arden, Warwickshire, moved to Wythall, where i met my now husband, Derek. We moved to Polemi in Cyprus in 2005 We have 5 children 4 in uk and 1 in Australia plus 5 grandchildren. My working life has been quite diverse i started as telephonist, secretary, professional driver, Also, retail. In 1994 Derek & i set up the three charities walk in the village, supporting three different charities, raising funds to purchase equipment needed for Birmingham children’s hospital, ChildLine, Millfield’s disable society, just to mention a few. During this time, we arranged music nights dances, local events, best money raiser was coach trips to Ireland, Ostend, Germany, etc. After 10 years and raising more than 78,000 we decided to start a new life in Cyprus. With the unfortunate circumstances that the three charities fund raising ceased, as we could not find anyone willing to take it on. I love gardening, travelling. The thing i most enjoy is volunteering for a worthwhile cause. I have worked at Polemi shop since the beginning just over 10 years, I became manager approx. 20 months ago. Since i took over i am proud to say our profits have soured. We are in a truly cyprian village, where we sell mainly bric-a-brac, furniture and of course clothing. As I said previously, we are in a typical cyprian village environment and i am pleased to say we are now welcomed by all. Our main aim is to maintain a good repour both with our volunteers and customers hopefully things will continue to improve, and we look forward to all the shops working as one entity after all we are all working for the same purpose that is supporting St Michaels HospiceJob
